miami. we talked about it at halftime. frank haith said about that, you have to rebound the basketball. >> mike: i thought miami did a nice job getting themselves back into the game. ramped up their intensity a little bit. he will be disappointed with the board work, a point of emphasis. it's a win for al skinner but a lot of teaching points for him. >> ron: speaking of al skinner, he's in the gym right now. >> jenn: coach, mike was talking about teaching points you take out of this game. >> we have to learn to close the game. we got too relaxed with defense and offensively. we missed free-throws and open shots. we played great and all of a sudden we tried to coast home. you can't do that in this league, the players are too good, won't quit and we have to maintain intensity throughout to make the free-throws and open shots. >> jenn: it might have made you sweat a little bit but they came back in the end. what do you think of how they finished in the last three

minutes? >> i knew we were a tough team mentally but wasn't overly concerned about that that's upsetting because i know that's not us. we should have been able to close out that game. give emma lmiamemmmiami a lot o. they fought back. >> jenn: you seemed to be more effective running your offense especially early on. >> we had more ball movement, the basic difference between the first half and second half. first half, we're looking over the defense and trying to find gaps. the second half, we just moved the ball and guys recognized it. better ball movement. >> jenn: is rebounding something this team can clearly hang its hat on, you had a great performance on the boards today. >> any time you play against a team that plays a zone, there's no responsibility for boxing out. our wing guys are pretty quick, they can get to the ball pretty well. those -- they will create opportunities for us.

year. >> jenn: coming up, what are things acc fans can look for, players, teams you like, anything else, your insight you can add? >> i really like this miami team. i think they have a lot of nice young pieces, durand scott and malcolm grant will make a nice combination. what you saw today is bc is a team primarily comprised of juniors, a lot of experience on that team. they composed themselves. miami claude and scrapped theirselves back into the game there. are a lot of new pieces there. i really like their backcourt. i think collins, as the season goes on will be more of a factor. i like these two teams. i also like clemson and florida state, virginia tech, all of our teams, really, i think what you're seeing, teams are having to adjust from losing players like they do every year, north carolina a primary example, clemson a primary example, florida state a primary example, starting to find their footing. wake forest had a big win yesterday lose two kids to the

versatility leading to really good defense. they've.ñíkñ already forced sev steals in this game so far. in their last game against alcorn they had 21. it's the tenacity that kansas can get guys into bad rotations, they can get them playing faster than they want to play and ultimately get easy baskets. when you get a team like kansas, easy baskets makes them that much harder to beat. that's why people think they are the best team in the country. >> steve: michael, ucla is scoreless the last four minutes, 0 for 5. when you think of kansas you think of a high octane offense. many don't realize they were fifth nationally in field goal defense at 38% last year. ucla cuts it to seven. dragovic is here. >> marques: there's that high/low bill self is known for. morris capitalizes on the inside. >> steve: he really sealed off his defender underneath the

basket. >> marques: they do a terrific job. danny teaches these guys the professional way. to steal, sometimes they'll steal, spin, and then lob over the top. happen. and maybe it's asking too much looking at the personnel and the limits of that personnel but they need their point guard jerime anderson to penetrate and try to take guys off the double, try to draw defenders so they can kick out the open shots. it's just so tough for these guys to do. >> steve: this is jerime anderson, a talented young man, a sophomore from anaheim canyon high school and a star. but ucla does not have much point guard depth. i know they're recruiting ray mcallen and jones. this is a program that does not have the point guard depth to it. a young man can come in here and play a lot of minutes immediately. >> marques: they don't have the speed and push defense position that they need with sherron

collins. they have to know how to get to the gut and create problems for the defense. get those wide open shots for shooters on the outside. they have jerime anderson. he throws the basketball away. >> steve: a pickup and score and kansas with a ten-point lead. that was a bad pass by anderson. >> marques: talking about speed and quickness elijah johnson the freshman on the floor from las vegas high school, he comes out of the game, jerime anderson, but gets a pat on the head from bill self because he did his job. he forced jerime anderson into the turnover. >> steve: that was the second foul on elijah. honeycutt. they say he traveled. >> marques: it's got to be tough. a situation like this, lloyd bridges in that airplane movie talks about you picked a bad
